Has there been a study that determines the true carbon foot print of collecting, sorting, transporting, flacking PET bottles. I understand we do not want to add the PET bottles to the land fill but I wonder if the the carbon foot print of recycling PET bottles is not higher than the carbon foot print of converting natural gas from a pipe line into PET.
