While a presidential election is at stake in the United States
during the coming year, the future of global PET packaging and what
lies in store for it in 2008 and beyond generated no small amount of
debate at the 10th annual PET Strategies Conference.
From
attempts to forecast the hottest areas of end-use growth to debates
over whether water will supplant carbonated soft drinks and sustain an
entire industry segment to the introduction of rPET technologies and
processes for food grade applications and their impact on recycling and
cost economics, PET Strategies again offered global packaging
professionals their best view of the year into what lies ahead.
