2009 Summit Meeting Agenda Touts A
Noticeable & Meaningful Shift Reflective
Of 'The Business of Packaging Innovation'
 

   The 2009 Summit Meeting of the Packaging Industry, set for February 25 - 27, 2009, in Clearwater Beach, FL, features a world-class lineup of executive brand owners, converters, and package and business model innovation solutions providers who will focus their talks and panels on total systems approaches to the business of package technology, processes, and supply chain innovation.

   "Packaging Strategies has always expressed bold visions of key business and technology drivers in the packaging industry - and the "Business of Packaging Innovation" theme of the 2009 Summit Meeting of the Packaging Industry reflects that foresight," said David Luttenberger, CPP, Director of Packaging Strategies.

   The conference will address the idea that no one element of package innovation can succeed without a holistic approach - that technology depends on sound business strategies and a sound business strategy supports the pursuit, development, and successful, profitable commercialization of technology, process, and systems innovation.

   The 2009 Summit will also debut the Innovation Station Expo, where up to a dozen leading packaging innovation centers operated by brand owners, suppliers, private innovation think tanks, and universities will display and demonstrate their respective centers' packaging innovation capabilities.

McDonald's Rolls Out Next Generation
Of Global Packaging Innovation
   Beginning in November, McDonald's will introduce its new generation of global packaging, the most comprehensive rollout in the brand's history. All 118 McDonald's countries will participate in this rollout during the next two years, putting the brand's food quality story front and center and directly into the hands of customers -- some 56 million every day.

   Through a blend of bold text and powerful images, the new packaging will illustrate the high quality ingredients and food prepared at McDonald's.  McDonald's new global packaging will be consistent around the globe, using sophisticated graphics, photography, and storytelling, with and without words.

Pregis' New Innovation Center Focuses On Custom Packaging Innovation Solutions

To Be Featured at 2008 Summit Meeting

   Pregis Corp. recently opened its new Innovation Center (IC) in north suburban Chicago.

   The IC is positioned as Pregis' new developmental "think tank" for the creation of the next generation of protective packaging materials and systems.  The IC also will be dedicated to finding custom solutions for those packagers who have specific protective packaging challenges they need to address.
